It's great getting all revved up, but we need to ask ourselves....will we really support our sport?????? I have had the idea of a BBing clothing lable since 1996.....but have done nothing cause I see no support for our industry and I WILL NEVER beg at the door of stand-up's and make it a "Surf friendly" brand......when the time comes will YOU support my lable when it goes public? To all the BBing hero's out there....you keep on rushing hideous waves and busting the HUGE moves, cause the stand-up's are going to have to step aside for the spunja revolution.....Peace out and God Bless.

It's great getting all revved up, but we need to ask ourselves a few questions....... 1. Who of us ACTUALLY shops at Factory 7? We MUST stop supporting surf stores who don't sponsor or support BBing! Factory 7 offers us all BRILLIANT SERVICE so why are we shopping elsewhere? 2. If we see a new BBing brand we

Merv ... you are right and it is something we have known for sometime - you can't really shout out "support bodyboarding" when there are no labels to buy - but it is as much about where you buy your gear from as what brands you buy -- which is why we put the effort and investment into Factory 7. I think Brandon's argument though is don't support those companies which specifically target bodyboarding but don't put anything in. He has a point but on this occassion my opinion is that you are both right on certain points. Schools contests - WP run a very successful interschool contest although we do need them to put their contests and news up on sixty40. SABA is look to start up more interschool contests next year. On that note - SABA has restructured they now have a 5 person board of directors, they've lost all the people who didn't really want to be there and they're bringing on the people which they need to do the job of moving the sport forward. Darryn Stephens has been appointed head of Marketing and Sam Kamffer has been appointed as Art Director. There is structure now, there are plans being put in place but they do need more people involved who want to get involved and who have the skills. So if you do want to get involved then contact them. I've been putting loads of hours into sixty40 & Factory 7 over the last year with a very ambitious aim for F7 ... we want to try help give the sport a jump start and we are now focusing on clothing brands which the bodyboarders can relate to. We have a shipment of Nomad clothing arriving soon, No Friends will arriving Nov/Dec, we've had "Rejected" in store since we launched and we're getting Reef clothing in soon --- Reef have been awesome sponsors of bodyboarding this year. We have a few more plans in motion to make bodyboarding clothing more available to bodyboarders but it is not just about clothing. It is about the administration of the sport and the industry and over the next months and years we should see the sport moving forward progressively - but the riders themselves need to get on board too.

what a load of crock...is that the best explaination as to why there's so little been done for the sport?.brandon you know me well enough for me to say this..Rubbish! i wont say that it doesn't play a roll in the sport but have you ever looked at the idiots who've tried runnig the sport? i honestly have no clue how the guys think, seriously. before you can make money you need a product, that product is an idea that comes from a desire to do something...you manage it from there. example..there are over 10 000 kids going to schools along our cost line, durban to cape town...show me one inter school contest for them?how do you generate interest when the IDIOTS running don't know how to manage the issue? don't blame us for not supporting Bodyboarding..its so childish..look at the issue at hand..a million chiefs and not enough indians i'd say....this blame game is the worst thing for the sport..taking responsiblity is were its starts, and you know like i know IT TAKES LEADERS TO DO SOMETHING not the sheep!..so before you lay into me who happens to like billabong jeans...go figure out a plan to ADMINISTOR the whole sport..i'm over people with their lame flipping idea's.build something don't sit around waiting for to build its self..do i want to get involved? would love to..but not with the idiots doing it now..sorry if that seems hard but you know a tree by its friut.. and all i can see is a shambles.....and if there's anybody who disagres with me,thats great but do something about it..i'm still going to buy the things i do..you show me the company making good solid stuff, thats going to last..i'll buy it but don't give this speech again..it can't go anywhere,if there's no where to go..get a plan..start from scratch and move on but this shouting from the top SUCKS!!!!!

Thank you , Brandon , for your letter and your exhortation for us, as the Bodyboarding community to claw back that which the `locust` of Companies that do not support bodyboarding have taken from us in terms of battling to get proper sponsorship, decent money and media exposure! I commit my support to this campiagn 100%. ANGUS HOUSTON , Chairman WP BODYBOARDING ASSOCIATION and SABA EXCO MEMEBER.

ahhh hell yeah!!! those are some awesome and inspiring words man. i admit, i am one of those kooks buying clothing which blatantly mock us bodyboarders. and for that i am sorry and i say no more! back in high school we used to mock those wearing all the latest clothing from the big surf companies, we liked to consider ourselves "underground". but then we finished school, studied and now have well payin jobs, and i admit not gettin into the water nearly as much as i used to. but we still like to consider ourselves as bodyboarders. the only difference is we are now wearing those companies logos on our clothes. but from now on i will look that little bit harder to find the real bodyboarding clothes to support our sport which needs most!

I suddenly realized after reading your article that i too have become what you may call a hypocrite to the sport that i love. I couldn't of sayed it better my friend. The thing is that here in Puerto Rico in my opinion, the sport is not in the best position right now and i'd like to do something about it. The only brand i can recognize in terms of clothes apparel is No Friends, what can i do to help the sport?, i'm very interested in starting a company strictly dedicated to bodybaording and a few tips would always come in handy. Any words of advice on your behalf will be appreciated. Thanx for that article which helps me put myself in to perspective anyway, Danny Puerto Rico

You know what, I agree 100% with Brandon. It is time that people stand up for what they believe in. It is time that people unite and promote what they love. It is time for people to enter the unknown. It is time for people to SEARCH THE UNKNOWN. A group of friends and myself got together for this exact same reason and started our own movement – ANON. We support those who stand up for what they believe in. We support all those untitled people out there doing what they are doing because they can. This is the future and the time is now! This is the time to have a good time. This is the time to live. This is your time, SEARCH THE UNKNOWN and find the truth. SEARCH THE UNKNOWN and find the reason. SEARCH THE UNKNOWN because you can. We support bodyboarding. Look out for our gear in a shop near you. We will be launching in Stellenbosch in November AT THE SEARCH THE UNKNOWN PARTY. Phone 083 489 1382 for details. Tjoekie, Morne, Michel and Mark. AAIt!

yes brutha, wot u say is very true. i have realised that in the past but didnt bother because no one listened to wot i had to say, i've tried before to buy custom x or no friends clothing but non of the surf shops around here stock em. i read the profile on andre botha and he says he sponsored by billabong, which he is, but if u check the billabong site, he is nowhere to be listed. all i can say is support the sport that supports u. enough said
