Tristan Roberts wins gold and silver as South Africa takes third place in the ISA World Bodyboarding Championships.
Tristan Roberts was the star of the South African Bodyboarding Team at the ISA World Championships in Iquique, Chile, winning a gold and silver medal at the event which ended yesterday.
The Western Cape rider won the Open Men's World title in style and followed this up with a second place in the Under 18 Boys Final to become the most successful South African rider at an ISA World Bodyboarding Championship.
The experienced Iain Campbell won bronze in the Drop Knee Final and the South African Team came third overall, their best result in the four ISA World Bodyboarding Championships that have taken place.
The Team Event was won by the ecstatic hosts, Chile who edged out the powerful French team while another strong Bodyboarding nation, Portugal, came fourth behind South Africa.

Yoshua Toledo brought more joy to Chile when he beat Roberts in the Under 18 Boys Final to win the country's first ever ISA Gold medal.
Teresa Almeida of Portugal won the Open Women's Final, Carolina Botteri of Peru won gold in the Under 18 Girls Division and Amaury Laverhne of France won the Drop Knee World title.
The Aloha Cup title went the way of France with Portugal second, Brazil third and Venezuela fourth.
During the Closing Ceremony, the Mayor of Iquique Jorge Soria announced that Iquique will once again host the ISA World Bodyboard Championship in 2015, as well as the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship in 2016.
