North Beach Bodyboarding Club will be hosting a contest in conjunction with the Beach Africa festival in Durban this coming July. The contest will be a one day affair, held at the Bay of Plenty, on June 30th, the first day of the Beach Africa event.
The club contest is not a SABA rated event, but it will however have a R10 000 prize purse up for grabs.
For the sake of being able to complete the event in one day, you may compete in only ONE prone division- but you may ride Drop-knee as a second division if you wish to.
There will be prize money for each of the divisions as follows:
Pro- R3000
1st - R1200
2nd – R800
3rd – R600
4th – R400
U20- R2000
1st – R800
2nd – R600
3rd – R400
4th – R200
U15- R1500
1st – R600
2nd – R400
3rd – R300
4th – R200
Ladies- R1500
1st – R600
2nd – R400
3rd – R300
4th – R200
Drop-knee- R2000
1st – R800
2nd – R600
3rd – R400
4th – R200
Entry fee is R50, and membership to North Beach Bodyboarding Club is encouraged but NOT mandatory for this event. Entry forms will be posted shortly in North Beach Surf Shop, Piranha Surf Shop and sixty40.co.za as well as sabaonline.co.za. Entry closing date is tuesday June 27th.
Competitors should meet at Bay of Plenty at 7:15am on the morning of June 30th.
