Wimpy/Rossi - Contest Update

It is time once again to gear up for the annual Margate Wimpy/Rossi Pro/Am Bodyboarding Competition. This is the contests’ 8th successful year running and it looks to be even bigger this year. It always attracts many of the countries top bodyboarders with the occasional international rider entering as well. Around 150 entrants are expected at this years event. The event has a reputation for attracting great consistent waves and has an impressive prize purse and product prizes. Spectators get to see some spectacular high risk manoeuvres in some nail biting heats. As it is a long weekend, the beach should be packed creating an awesome vibe. There will be other beach activities like the Factory 7 trampoline compo for the entrants, plus giveaways and much more.

Margate Beach Wimpy and Rossi Board Company will again be joining forces as the main sponsors for the event which means cash prizes for the pro’s and great prizes for other divisions. There will be many other product prizes up for grabs like sunglasses, board bags, clothing, leashes, wetsuits and the list goes on. The contest briefing will be held on the 26th April and the event starts on 27th April and runs until the 29th April. The contest is expected to run over 2 days allowing a one day window period further improving the likelihood of great bodyboarding waves.
