Day one of the 4A rated Wedge Classic, the 4th stop on the South African Bodyboarding Association’s national circuit, being run in the holiday resort town of Plettenberg Bay, was a virtual bodyboarder's paradise, as contestants were greeted with flawless 3ft peaky and hollow surf. The conditions were perfect for bodyboarders to display the very manoeuvers they are best known for performing, with huge air rolls, deep barrel rides and air roll spins the order of the day. The high level of performance on day one bodes well for the remaining 4 days of the contest, as the top seeded riders begin to compete, and the forecasts indicate an increase in swell size starting Thursday.3044 views
