The contest went off rather smoothly with the recently injured Craig Geddes taking the role as head judge. The shifting peaks on the outside proved to be rather challenging with swells of up to 6ft slamming on the outside banks. This didnt stop the contestants though as all divisions including the Boys U12, Ladies U16 and Development riders surfed the outside for their respective heats. There were of course the usual standouts on the day and one or two big ARS's being landed. The Pros final was decided in the dying minutes when Steven Keuning hit a huge ARS securing him the heat and racking up the hightest score of the event.
