Bodyboarders raise Ten Thousand Rand for CANSA

The Central Kwa-Zulu Natal Bodyboarding Association (CKZNBA) were the master minds behind running an event in the aid of CANSA last month. An absolutely tragic event within the Bodyboarding community happened in September this year when 25 year old Ivan Friedman lost his fight to the dreaded disease cancer. This tragic event mobilized our Association to organize an event in aid of CANSA and also to promote awareness of how this disease affects people we know in our every day lives.

The CKZNBA along with Bad Boy, Gotcha, Bad Girl, ATD Bodyboards, Wimpy, Ocean & Earth, No Friends, Beyond Coastal Sun block, Island Tribe Sun block, NMD Bodyboards, Hot Buttered Bodyboards, Elemenohpee Bodyboards and Scott Hawaii Bodyboards ran an event in aid of raising money for the CANSA Association. A company, AESSEAL, was very generous in offering to donate R10 000 towards this Association that runs events to make people aware of Cancer. The money came from the Eddie Daniel Trust Fund and the hand over was made today at the offices of the CANSA Association.

A huge thanks must go to Rob Waites, from AESSEAL, his son ,Adam, pictured left for being at the handing over as well as Wayne du Preez, Chairman of the CKZNBA Association, and Ronny Motsepe, Provincial Director of the CANSA Association. We hope to make this an annual event and would like to see more input for next year. We hope to run this event in Margate next year but will wait for the Southern KZN Association to respond.
