The Southern Natal Hurricane Bodyboarding Championships were held at Margate Beach last Sunday in some trying conditions. About 30 entrants were greeted by strong south-westerly winds in the morning with quite a decent competitive wave. This however deteriorated immensely as the day went on and the tide went lower accompanied by powerful winds. The judges had their work cut out for them as some competitors opted to ride the outside which was a very difficult paddle and just as difficult waves to negotiate. Stand out of the event definitely goes to World Games finalist David Lee who took 1st place in both the DK and Pro division.1976 views
