Second week on the North Shore, and still no swell bigger than solid 6 foot. The trade winds have been blowing pretty strong creating a lot of bump, also the swells that have arrived, have been primarily from the North and North East, causing a lot of water to move. The summer sand is still creating a lot of backwash at spots like Off the Wall, Backdoor and Log Cabins, ensuring plenty fun-filled pounding sessions. On a more positive note, there are plenty of fun waves to be had at OTW, especially since there are still only a hand full of spongers on the North Shore. All the other spots, prefered by the stand-up crowd ( Rocky's, Sunset and Gas Chambers), are pretty much saturated, due to triple crown of surfing which only ends on the 20th of December.
Some rainy and windy days in between have called for the first of many still to come visits to the local cinema at Millilani (in the centre of the Island). Furthermore, riding a bicycle in the rain has become a task on its own, just trying to avoid becoming a statistic by constantly dodging cars pulling in and out of their driveways.
Until next timeā¦
