Day two of the Sopelana Movistar Pro sees the girls hit the water for the opening rounds of the WWT event.
Former World Champion and current ratings leader Naymara Carvhalo (BRZ) is looking forward to kicking off her Spanish Assult.
"I had a good start to the year at Australia with winning the Ingles Pro. Now, I focus all my attention and money towards this event and winning back the World Championship. It is my dream again to do this", she said.
Neymara will compete in R2 heat 8 against Soria Rocha (BRZ), Conchi Anillo (SPN) and a qualifier from the trails.
World number three (3) from Australia Mandy Zeiren has been back in awesome form after a year off the WWT last year due to injury.
"It's great to be back competing at this level and Sopelana has attracted the best competitors from all over the world. I have been travelling the world for a long time and I said to myself that if I did well at the Ingles Pro, then I would follow the remainder of the WWT in 2007. I am stoked to be here in Spain and the set up here is probably the best that I have ever seen for any contest."
Mandy will compete in heat 5 R2 against Japan's Aoi Koike & Noriko Kawagoe as well as a trialist.
Current World Champion Marina Taylor from the Canary Islands was her casual self in her reply to re-claiming the title.
"Yes, it would be good, but I just see what happens. This year has been fun as the champion and I look forward to a good result now."
The waves are rolling into the beach at 3-4 feet (1-1.5 mtrs) and the swell is expected to be a clean 3 feet in the morning and slowly drop over the following three days.
